Tarte de Nata- This is how you do it!
This week we have something delicious for you! A giant Pastel de nata! No small pastries from the store, but a big version perfect for sharing with friends and family. 🤩
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 500 ml of milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 100 g sugar
- 25 g cornstarch (maize starch)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 pieces of lemon peel
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- In a saucepan, mix the sugar, cornstarch and egg yolks until smooth.
- Add the cold milk little by little to the egg mixture and stir well.
- Add the cinnamon stick, lemon peel and a pinch of salt.
- Heat the mixture over low heat and keep stirring continuously until the filling thickens.
- Once the filling is thick, turn off the stove. Remove the cinnamon stick and lemon peel and save the custard.
- Line a pie pan with the puff pastry and poke a few holes in it with a fork.
- Pour the custard into the cake pan.
- Bake the cake for 40 minutes at 180°C, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let the cake cool and sprinkle with cinnamon if necessary.
- Enjoy this delicious giant Pastel de Nata with a cup of coffee or tea!
